Intensive workshop presents an opportunity for adult flutists of all ages to participate in master classes, and join in-depth discussions about the study of flute tone, breathing and body awareness both in flute practice and in performance. Fifteen performers are chosen by taped audition and will be selected upon level of playing needed for the class selected. No limit to the number of auditors. Featuring workshops with Jerald Schweibert, Assistant Professor of Theatre, University of Michigan and Laura Dwyer, Certified Yoga Instructor, Principal Flute of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra and Musica de Camara. Sixth Annual Interlochen Adult Flute Camp 2015

Challenge yourself in a fun and instructional week for players of all instruments in the flute family. Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow flutists while rehearsing in a flute choir, attending repertoire-reading sessions and collaborating with others in chamber music duos, trios and quartets.
Seminar sessions include: Scale and Practice Patterns Session, Tone Studies and Intonation Class with Jane Berkner, Interlochen Flute Choir Camp Director. There will be many opportunities to enjoy reading sessions of flute ensemble music including a Flute Choir Reading Sesison led by Julie Sooy, Director of the Western Michigan Flute Orchestra and Wendy Webb Kumer, Director of the Pittsburgh Flute Academy. Participants will receive small ensemble coaching from instructors throughout the week and may elect to play in an informal concert of small ensembles at the end of the week.
